Cheryl A. Velasquez
Cheryl Velasquez is a seasoned real estate attorney with a practice focused on purchase and sale transactions, financing, development, construction, leasing, land use, and related business matters throughout the Roaring Fork Valley and across Colorado. She regularly advises clients on high-end residential real estate transactions in Aspen and statewide.
Cheryl’s practice also encompasses complex commercial real estate matters, including the development of commercial and office buildings, school campuses, medical office buildings, and mixed-use projects. She frequently counsels clients on title, survey, zoning, and land use issues, providing strategic guidance through all phases of a transaction.
In addition, Cheryl represents both landlords and tenants in retail, office, and other commercial leasing transactions and has extensive experience in real estate financing, representing both lenders and borrowers.
Before founding Colorado Mountain Law, Cheryl was a partner at Waas Campbell Rivera Johnson & Velasquez, LLP, where she practiced for more than 15 years. Prior to that, she spent 12 years in the real estate group at Otten Johnson Robinson Neff + Ragonetti PC, becoming a shareholder in 2004.
Cheryl earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1998, where she interned for Judge Peter H. Ney and Judge Jose Marquez of the Colorado Court of Appeals. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1993. Cheryl was recognized as a Colorado Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2010 and 2011.
